10/11 EDUCATION AND TRAINING. (a) Cancellation of Workshops for Cornet, Trombone and 'Train the Trainer'. Simply low applications only 6 each for Cornet and Trombone and 2 for 'Train the Trainer'. Fortunately no expenses incurred by Association as Tutors and Venues waived their fees. (From the floor) suggested reasons. Extra engagements making weekends sacrosanct. Children doing so many things, although it was pointed out that these workshops are for all ages. (b) Horn/Flugel workshop 1st October 2011. This will go ahead and is being sponsored by Yamaha and Trevada. Sheona White (now with Black Dyke) is the tutor and the venue is Okehampton Conservative Club Let's hope we don't let our sponsors down. This workshop will be reviewed afterwards. (c) Brass workshop held at West Buckland on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th February 2011. Attendance was 72-75 for both days. Slightly down on last year possibly due to change of weekend. This is because we are reliant on the dates of School half term. All appeared to enjoy the weekend and the tutors were very impressed. (d) Brass workshop 2012 West Buckland on 18th & 19th February. The Association may have to deal direct with the publishers in future to obtain music. Goff Richards and his wife Sue have been obtaining the music for us up to this date.
