EXMOUTH BRASS BAND FESTIVAL 2010

EXMOUTH PAVILION AND GARDENS

ENTERTAINMENT CONTEST IN THE PAVILION  
               Open to all Associationn bands, with a limit of 15 bands (entries accepted on first come, first served basis).

ADJUDICATOR          Dr Chris Davis

            Bands of up to 35 players (including percussion), presenting a 25 minute own choice programme.

            NO registration - no player may play with more than one band - no borrowed player can be featured as a Soloist.

            Youth/Junior bands - to be considered for the Section prize, players must be 19 years and under, but may include  two senior bass/bass trombone players
           
           Open Adjudication

           Pre-Draw will be made following close of entries, and bands nofied in writing of this draw together with timings.

           Percussion (2 Premier Timpanie 25" & 28" pedal) and music stands will be provided on stage - all other required  percussion equipment the responsibility of the individual bands
       
           A 10 minute rule between bands will apply.

           Entry Fee - £50.00 (non - refundable) to include 30 band player tickets.

           Trophies include Exmouth Challenge Trophy for overall performance; SWBBA Cup for overall entertainment; plus Trophies for Best Soloist, Best Trombone Section, Best Percussion Section, Highest placed band in recognised section, Highest place un-graded band

          Bands are reminded of the brass instrumentation: Eb Soprano Cornet, Bb Cornet, Bb Flugel Horn, Eb Tenor Horn,  Bb Baritone, Bb Euphonium, Slide Trombones, Eb & EEb Bass, Bb & BBb Bass.

             
FRINGE CONCERTS    

            As a condition of entry  to the Entertainment Contest, competing bands must agree to present a fringe Concert of  30 minute duration at an appointed time during the day in the Pavilion Gardens.  Seating will be provided.  It will be necessary for bands to provide their own music stands, percussion, etc for the outside concerts
       
         ENTRIES

         Member bands wishing to take part in the Exmouth Brass Band Festival on Saturday 4th September 2010 are   requested to complete and return the entry form sent to the Bands' Secretary, together with a cheque for £50.00   payable to SWBBA, to the Secretary
                      Brian Elliott, at 1 Woodland Court, Woodland Road, Ivybridge, Devon
         PL21 9HG (telephone 01752 892056) by no later than 17th July 2010 - 'first come, first served'.  
    If any places remain unfilled following the closing date, these may be offered to non-member bands.
