WHAT'S HAPPENING IN 2012


Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th February - Mid-Winter Brass Workshop West Buckland School, West Buckland, nr Barnstaple - Tutors this year will be Leonard Adams, Stan Lippeatt and Paul Norley. Schedules have been mailed to all member Bands.  Closing date for applications is 28th Janury.

Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th March - West of England Regional Championships - Riviera Centre Torquay, - schedules have been mailed to all registered Bands.  Closing date is 14th January (No late entries will be accepted).

Sunday 25th March - SWBBA Annual General Meeting and General Meetings = Okehampton Conservative Club at 1030.  Formal notice of AGM  and Nomination Forms have been sent out to all Bands.

Sunday 20th May - 44th Weston-s-Mare Own Choice Contest. - Schedule on Website and been sent out to bands, entries and information from the Contest Adminstrator, John Woods. All details on website.

Saturday 1st September - Exmouth Brass Band Festival - Exmouth Pavilion and Gardens. Schedule will be mailed late April.

Saturday 3rd November - 66th Annual Championships - Riviera International Conference Centre, Torquay - 7 Sections (Opend, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Youth, Ungraded, Training Band).  Schedule will be mailed early June.

Saturday 24th November - Tenor Horn/Horn Workshop - with Sheona White (sponsored by Yamaha) Okehampton Conservative Club 0930 to 1700hrs.

Saturday 1st December - Euphonium/Bass Workshop - with David Thornton - Okehampton Conservative Club 0930 to 1700hrs

CONDUCTING WORKSHOP -To make this a vialbe event, the Executive is liaising with the Cornwall BBA to hold a joint Workshop.  As soon as a date has been agreed with Philip Harper, the schedule will be circulated.

"SO YOU WANT TO BE A AN ADJUDICATOR" - Brian Buckley, chairman, Association of Barass Band Adjudicators (ABBA), has offered to lead a 1 day Workshop as a "helpful taster session for those who wish to know more about the det6ail of adjudications method and be used to improve listening skills generally".  If any member is interested, please frop a line to the Secretary.
